Light + Transport

Natural and artificial light combine to enhance the passenger experience. We design light to create a positive ambience, maintain safety and security, support wayfinding and create and inclusive and accessible environment.

Distinct lighting compositions bring each eclectic façade to life with its own night time personality. Playful lighting enhances the character of architectural artworks, from pop art to puzzle pieces and stage curtains. Unified under a glowing blue street-level base, the facades create a vibrant, district-wide identity after dark.

24-hour passenger experience enhanced through balanced lighting that aids orientation and preserves outward views. Dynamic skylight shadows and a softly glowing double-skin roof create a lantern-like architectural identity by night. Exterior cyan light washes give the terminal and air bridges a floating, lagoon-like presence on the airfield.

Daylight-led design and efficient fixtures minimise energy use to support the airport’s energy-positive ambitions. Colour-coded lighting and architectural elements aid wayfinding and create a vibrant, characterful passenger journey. Creative use of direct light and reflective surfaces maintains a bright, welcoming atmosphere as natural light fades.

Terminal 4, Barajas Airport, Madrid, Spain

Innovative suspended mirror reflectors illuminate both the floor and ceiling, enhancing spatial rhythm and roof form. Custom wide circular luminaires (‘the wok’) soften lower spaces and eliminate the need for a suspended ceiling. Minimal fixtures and concealed lighting support calm, intuitive wayfinding while preserving architectural clarity.

Car Park, Victoria Dockside, Hong Kong

Pixelated ceiling panels and rhythmic wall lights transform functional lighting into immersive art. Dynamic animations meet code while energising the space for events, exhibitions, and daily use. Subtle shimmer and heritage highlights celebrate site identity, turning arrival into an experience.

Visual of Cable Car, London, UK

Integrated lighting enhances both the interiors and exteriors of gondolas, towers, and platforms. The scheme balances the contrast between the vibrant urban hubs and the dark river landscape. Lighting transforms the cable car into a striking night time attraction, not just a mode of transport.
