    12. Do less but better

    Lighting design is often overcomplicated, over-specified, and unnecessarily intricate. 


    In a world often overloaded with visual information and complex technology, it is easy for a lighting design to become cluttered and confused, with too many elements.


    Over-lighting can flatten forms, create homogeneity, and destroy ambience, while under-lighting can cause visibility issues, create confusion or even increase fear. However, Light Architecture doesn’t always need multiple light sources. Light naturally reflects and diffuses off surfaces, so we should carefully consider not only the location of light sources but also their quantity. Often, good lighting can be achieved with just one focal point or a single illuminated surface.......
