    16. Simplify lighting control

    Lighting control is often overcomplicated, over-specified, and difficult to understand and use. 


    As lighting consumes energy, it's crucial to control when and how it's used, such as dimming to save energy and turning it off when no one is around. Like the control of temperature in heating systems, lighting needs to be properly regulated—either manually or automatically—to ensure visual comfort, create the right ambience, and save energy.


    Lighting control serves two main purposes: balancing brightness on different surfaces and allowing users to interact with the system, such as turning lights on/off or dimming them. Since lighting can dramatically change the character of a space at the press of a button, defining the control requirements is a key part of any project brief.......
